Coach Rys

The New Hartford, N.Y. native, Jessica Rys, enters her third year as a member of the Williamsville Stampede coaching staff.  Rys is certified as Level 1 USA Field Hockey coach.  She expresses a deep passion for the game and looks forward to growing field hockey in Western N.Y.

 

Rys is currently a Physical Education teacher at Williamsville North High School.  She’s taught P.E. in the Williamsville District since 2015.  In 2018, she was named Williamsville North Varsity Field Hockey coac.h.  She lead her team to their fourth straight Section VI Class A crown, the Far Western Region title and to the NYSPHSAA Class A Finals.  She previously coached winning seasons for North’s junior varsity field hockey team for 3 seasons and the girl’s junior varsity lacrosse for  2 seasons.  She was named the girls varsity lacrosse coach for Williamsville North in 2018.

 

A graduate of Syracuse University (2014, summa cum laude), Rys captained the field hockey club team and played attack on the women's lacrosse club team.  After receiving her undergraduate degree, Rys worked as the assistant coach for the SUNY Cortland field hockey team in the 2014-15 season.  Rys earned her master’s degree from West Virginia University's College of Physical Activity and Sports Science in May of 2018.
